Cookies Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-30. This page describes the cookies and similar storage technologies (localStorage, sessionStorage) we use on the GenomSys website, and how you can manage them.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. Similar technologies — localStorage and sessionStorage — store small amounts of data in your browser without sending it on every request. We refer to all of these collectively as "cookies" below.
2. What we use
We use a minimal set. None of the items below transmit data to third parties.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
gs-theme | Essential · localStorage | Remembers your light/dark theme choice. | Until cleared |
gs-cookie-consent | Essential · localStorage | Records that you've seen and acted on the cookie banner. | 12 months |
genomsys-helix-* | Essential · localStorage | Internal animation playhead used by the homepage logo intro. Cleared each visit so the intro plays fresh. | Cleared each visit |
We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site trackers, fingerprinting, or social-network pixels.
3. Analytics
If/when we enable analytics, it will be a privacy-respecting provider (no IP collection, no cross-site identifiers, EU-hosted). We'll update this page first and add an explicit opt-in to the banner.
4. Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies via your browser settings. For LocalStorage you can also use the developer tools (Application → Storage → Local Storage → genomsys.com → Clear).
Blocking the gs-theme cookie will make the theme fall back to light on every load. Blocking gs-cookie-consent will show the banner on every visit.
5. Changes
We will update this page when we add or remove cookies. The effective date at the top reflects the latest change.
